John Robinson

US Circus Terminology.

A signal given to cut a circus performance short. An act may be told "John Robinson" as they headed into the ring to call for an abbreviated performance. Alternatively, if the ringmaster made the announcement "Would John Robinson please come to the rear entrance" in the middle of an act, the performer should go right into their last trick.
