Uniformist

A ring worker who installs and replaces the circus props, prepares the ring and circus apparatuses for circus acts. Uniformists usually sit in the two rows along the sides of vorgang (the curtain that separates the ring from the backstage) during the performance. The term 'uniformist' comes from uniform (livery suit) worn by all such workers. In former times, all circus performers were obliged to work as uniformists.
